Acerola is a tree that grows in South American dry forests, particularly in Peru, the Amazonian, the West Indies and Brazil.
Its berries look like the European cherry. Often considered as super-foods, they are characterised by their particularly high concentration of vitamin C (between 10 and 40 times more vitamin C than oranges, depending on the source of data).

Increasing demand for acerola has led some Brazilian farmers to use GMOs and numerous pesticides. Our acerola is certified 100% Organic by Bio.inspecta. This means that no harmful chemical treatment has been applied and that a strict control has been performed not only on the farm but also in Switzerland, so as to meet high safety and quality standards.
