Pleasure and immunity - everything is connected!

Australian researchers (Ilenia Papa from the Australian National University) have discovered that the immune system is organized much like the brain. Brain cells communicate with each other via messages using neurotransmitters, including dopamine.

Dopamine is the neurotransmitter of motivation, initiation of action, decision-making, but also of pleasure.

It has been shown that our immune system, through specialized T lymphocytes, transfers dopamine particles to B lymphocytes to motivate them to react against an infection. As a reminder, the function of B lymphocytes is to produce antibodies; in case of an attack by a pathogen, B lymphocytes complete their maturation and multiply to provide an appropriate immune response.

Dopamine is of great help in strengthening the action of B lymphocytes. When we know that three quarters of the immune system is produced in the enteric nervous system, we understand again why our intestine is considered our second brain.

This university study confirms to me the great importance of dopamine and even its crucial role in the defense of the body. Broadly speaking, dopamine would motivate B lymphocytes to work better, to fight more effectively. All of this seems very logical because ultimately what triggers our dopamine - besides BN Energy? Well, everything that gives us pleasure, joy, desire, energy.

When we feel good in our head, in our belly, in our life, we are less fragile, we therefore have a stronger immune system. We know how important it is to keep a good mood in case of illness, it is even said that 50% of a cure is related to the quality of one's morale. Properly activating your dopamine is one of the keys to good health.
