Our advice for the upcoming holidays
Christmas, cookies, chocolate, wine flowing in plenty, large successive meals, New Year, champagne, foie gras... Here are some nutritional tips to enjoy these precious moments - while taking care of yourself!
Incorporating fermented foods
Stuffing yourself with chips and other salty biscuits will not promote the future digestion of the whole upcoming meal. However, there is a healthy, tasty solution that strengthens the quality of the gut flora: small fermented and acidic vegetables. The famous pickles - which means "to put in brine or vinegar" - provide fermentation that can promote the growth of good bacteria that our intestine can benefit from. Preparing pickles - pickles, onions, cauliflowers, turnips, beets - in brine also allows you to preserve seasonal vegetables, their taste then becoming more acidic.

Don't forget to move!
If you chain hearty meals and drunken evenings, it's simple: increase your physical activity BEFORE meals! A high-intensity physical workout within three hours before a good feast allows our body to better absorb an excess of food and drinks. Get your HIITs on!
Take the time to chew
Chewing accompanied by salivation allows for better pre-digestion. Eating slowly allows each food put in the mouth to be perfectly liquefied and to reach satiety faster.
Each bite should be chewed 15 to 20 times! Do you really do it?
Back to basics once the party is over
To regain balance once the party and meals are over, our recommendations are to drink a lot... of water! Incorporate basifying foods into every meal (see the article on the dietary guidelines to regain acid-base balance) and go out for some aerobic activity like walking or snowshoeing - Not too high altitude otherwise you will be in oxygen debt, a debt that is more difficult to repay when you have drawn on your reserves several days in a row!
In terms of micronutrition, certain plants can help the body perform its purification role, notably artichoke, birch, dandelion, black radish or mate...
And don't forget to enjoy!
These moments are so precious - don't forget to enjoy them! :-)
