Omega 3 and sleep in children
A study shows that children consuming 600mg of omega 3 per day in the form of dietary supplements slept more and especially woke up much less often at night than children who had not received omega 3 supplementation.
Why? Because DHA, or cervonic acid, contained in certain types of omega 3 activates sleep by increasing the level of melatonin, the sleep neurotransmitter.
According to Dr. Mercola, krill oil is the best source of omega 3 rich in EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid) and DHA (docasahexaenoic acid). Krill oil has the advantage of containing phospholipids which ensure better assimilation of these precious active ingredients that are EPA and DHA. Krill is a micro-shrimp mainly fished in the cold waters of the Arctic and Antarctic oceans, which whales particularly feed on.
Alright, goodnight little ones and grown-ups ;-)
